Ashley Johnson behind lead character Ellie in The Last of Us

Announced last night at this year's Video Game Awards show that American TV Station 'Spike' puts on annually; 'The Last of Us' is the next big project from developer Naughty Dog and Sony for the Playstation 3.

Taking place in a modern setting where a plague has destroyed our very idea of civilization, main characters Joel and Ellie are some of the few survivors whom must scavenge, hunt and kill for the right to live in this post event world where even nature seems to be working against them.

Ellie, a teenage girl who is described as "wise beyond her years" is one half of the main characters introduced in the unveiling trailer (below) and thanks to twitter, we have confirmation that Ashley Johnson (Gwen Tennyson - Ben 10, Terra - Teen Titans) will be bringing her to life as the character's voice and mo-cap actor.
